Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program of Hotel Sogo started in 1998 when a group of concerned people requested. Hotel Sogo to donate linens and pillow cases to the poor victims of floods and typhoons. Since then, the management thought it was a great idea to help people in need as they continue to grow. Hotel Sogo CSR program is called “Sogo Cares”.
IBGFI is a private foundation established to support the development of arts, education, culture, skills, health services and social growth for marginalized Filipinos. Its creative programs include the sponsorship of the building of theatrical establishments and the production of performances, festivals, exhibitions, cultural research, outreach programs and the preservation and publication of materials about Philippine arts and culture.
ABOUT DOCTORS ON WHEELS
Through Sogo Cares Program, Hotel Sogo had successfully extends its service to the community by launching the Doctors on Wheels (DOW) Program that focuses on providing free medical consultations, laboratory examinations and medications to under-served communities throughout the Philippines.
The DOW is a mobile medical bus equipped and furnished with four examining beds, 10 examining chairs, medical/examination lights and other equipment to be used for medical missions across the country where the need is greatest like in the remote areas of Pangasinan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bataan, Zambales, Bicol and Iloilo. The DOW is staffed by volunteer doctors, social workers, nurses, pharmacists and Hotel Sogo volunteers.
Since the inception of DOW in 2015, there are about 50,000 indigent residents benefited from the said program through the help of different organizations and local government units, such as:
